Chihuahua pups look lovely but they could become quite annoying with their continuous chewing, licking and biting. These kinds of behavior if not checked could become a huge reason for worry, particularly when they mature. A fully grown dog when shows up to bite visitors or members of the family, it becomes a risky scenario to be in. These dogs, as with other breed of dogs need to be subjected to a highly planned training routine. Hardly anything else would do, and no, scolding them after they are matured will probably be useless. You may ask why? Primarily because they enjoy people and may not realize what they did wrong so as to be punished. And that also, for something they are already doing for a long period! This beats common sense, right? I was at this office to get caravan insurance and there was a lady over there who had the cutest Chihuahua I had ever seen. But in some time I saw the dog starting to nibble at the sofa over there and the next thing I saw was the guy in the office gently asking the lady to take the dog out.
The best option with Chihuahuas is to not just deal with them as cute puppies, but also to teach them to conduct themselves in a proper manner. Chihuahuas don’t react well to anger, and they can get very unstable and mischievous, if they’re not dealt with well or if they’re permitted to do no matter what they want. When a certain behavioral style sets in, it is hard to change them. Keep in mind that dogs are pack animals just like wolves, for that reason they will comply with only one master, regardless of what. Consequently within a large family your dog needs to be trained mainly by a single person, and must be trained to become gentle with the members of the family and friends.
