Cats have no idea if they are overweight or not, so how should they know that it is time to get some exercise or go on a diet? Right, they don’t know so they will continue to gain weight until YOU do something about it. This is not to say that you do not love your cat. In fact, most of the time, our cats become overweight because we love them too much. We tend to keep them near us or try to make them “comfortable” all the time instead of letting them go about their business playing and chasing mice.
Some things you can do to help trim those pounds from your fat cat is to avoid those extra treats, have them exercise on a regular basis and feed him foods high in protein and low in fat and carbs. Also, be sure to visit your vet often to make sure your cat remains healthy, the safest way to avoid high bills if something does go wrong is cat insurance.
